ATTENTION ALL SEPTEMBER BEGINNERS

You are to advance to Orange class which begins at 1:30pm regardless of how many classes you have attended. You will be grouped to receive “top up” training.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS

The AGM for the club will be taking place on Monday 5th September via zoom at 7.30pm.
The committee is desperately seeking 1 or 2 people to take on the roles of Secretary and Assistant Secretary as they need to be filled. The club is asking any members who like to join a fun, exciting committee and have a forward-thinking can-do attitude, we would love to hear from you!
There will be plenty of support and assistance to help you, it is not a difficult job but one that is vital to running of the club. As President I can assure you that you will get all the support and more that you need make it a very easy job.
Plus you get free parking, free food and drinks and you get to work with me the President – what more could you ask for.

The duties of the position are listed below:

Committee meetings
• Prepare meeting agenda and circulate 1 week prior to a meeting
• Attend and take minutes of each monthly meeting (meetings are cancelled if no urgent discussions required)
• Circulate minutes post the meeting
Secretary Email
• Monitor the secretary inbox. Forward sign up enquires to the enquiries email address
• Respond to current member booking enquiries as received
• Forward invoices to current treasurer for payment
• Record any correspondence incoming / outgoing on the committee agenda
General administration
• Record AGM meeting in state government website MyCAV
• Update committee members with DogsVic post the AGM
• Respond to DogsVic enquiries as received (forward to committee for input if required)
• Coordinate maintenance requests via city of Casey
Club Trials
• Assist with providing any information to the trial organiser as required (secretary will not be the sole organiser of a trial unless agreed to)

Important Information

As Covid has not gone away, please continue to do a self check before coming to the club grounds. If you are experiencing Covid like symptoms, please consider self testing or self isolation for the safety of all members.

We would like to thank all members for helping Berwick Obedience Dog Club maintain compliance to the state government pandemic mandates as this ensured our ability to return to and continue doing the things we love to do with our dogs.

Club Operations

Obedience classes will be run over three 45 minute sessions with a transition period of 30 minutes in between sessions. It is imperative that you head off straight from your class finishing.

  • 12:15 – 1:00pm Beginners
  • 1:30 – 2:15pm – Orange and Red
  • 2:45 – 3:30pm – Yellow, Pink, Green and Blue

  • The toilets will be open to all members. Please follow hand hygiene.
  • The kitchen will be open for hot food, snacks and drinks.
  • The club room will be open to all members.
  • The office will be open via the windows.
  • To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all, there will be zero tolerance of disrespectful or aggressive behaviour.
